Wally Bronner

The following is the exact text directly from the letter written by the International President of the Lions Club International (Webmaster unable to copy actual letter to the web site):

April 4, 2008

Dear Bronner Family,

On behalf of the 1.3 million Lions Club members all over the world, let me express our deepest sympathies and condolences on Wally's passing.

The Lions of Frankenmuth, the Lions of Michigan, and indeed Lions from near and far, will always remember Wally as a noble, principled, kind-hearted, and very generous person who touched the lives of countless people.  He was a beacon of hope to all he met and a true inspiration to many.

His dedication to the Lions Club of Frankenmuth, as a Charter founding member, and as an active communty service leader for decades, should serve as a guiding example to all of us.  He reminded us in so many ways that, to truly get ahead in life, you first need to lend a helping hand and caring heart to those in need around us.

In this time of need, we humbly send our prayers, best wishes, and kind thoughts to the entire Bronner family and to all the people who were touched by Wally's enormous and limitless generousity.

With sincere regards,

Signed (Mahendra Amarasuriya)

Internaltonal President

Lions Club International

“On behalf of the entire Frankenmuth Lions Club membership, it was an honor and privilege to have Wally Bronner as a charter member of our club.  He was an inspiration in the service of our God, country and the city of Frankenmuth and I can only hope we live up to his dedication and leadership.  We will surely miss him!”

Herb Zeilinger
President, Frankenmuth Lions Club

Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today issued the following statement on the passing of Wally Bronner:

“Wally Bronner embodied the spirit of Christmas more than any one person we’ll ever know.  His warm heart could light up a Christmas tree, and it was a heart that was centered in his deep faith in God and endless passion for his community.  Frankenmuth and Michigan are richer places because of his contributions.  I will treasure the times I enjoyed his company, and I extend my heartfelt sympathies to his wife, Irene, the entire Bronner family, and to the residents of Frankenmuth who have lost an icon."
